Apple and Alphabet Inc.’s Google Inc. will work together to boost search engine rankings for businesses, government agencies and consumers in a bid to boost overall market share, the companies said on Tuesday.
Google will work with Apple to make the web better for people, Alphabet Chief Executive Larry Page said in a blog post.
Google will also work with the companies to “make the web more competitive in areas that Google believes are important to consumers, businesses and governments,” Page said.
The partnership with Google is part of a broader agreement Google signed last month that will see Google and the companies work together on an array of projects, including helping search engines like Google News to make their products more personalized, including making the ads that people see more relevant.
In January, Google announced it would work with Microsoft Corp. to help developers create search-engine-optimized websites.
